Off-Grid Systems

Off-grid systems are designed to provide for all of your electrical needs without having any connection to the local electric company. These systems are perfect for locations where it is not feasible to connect to the grid or for anyone who wishes to maintain their independence. Most off-grid systems are used for cottages and some are used for year round residences. Sizing your system can be a bit of a challenge so we have put together a simple chart to give you some assistance.

The above diagram shows 6 solar panels connected to an array combiner (white square) that feeds the power through a charge controller (right side of the inverter power board) to a battery bank. DC power is then fed from the battery bank through the inverter, where the power is converted to AC power, to the main electrical panel for the house.
